About Gap-Santé
The "Group for the Analysis of Psychosocial Health" was created in 2002 as a research vector to convey the sense of an oriented dynamic force advancing research agendas with psychosocial considerations. While “GAP” is the acronym standing for “Group for the Analysis of Psychosocial Health”, it simultaneously refers to what is missing in most analyses and work in the field of health and well-being. The concept of a gap has become almost a mantra in Population Health. It is used to describe the difference between Why are Some People Healthy and Others Not?, the title of a seminal book on population health by Robert Evans, Morris L. Barer & Theodore R. Marmor. The research team, led by Dr. Louise Lemyre from the School of Psychology and Faculty of Social Sciences at University of Ottawa.
